The «Pro Elsau Foundation» built a mixed-age residential development with nine terraced single-family homes, 31 apartments, underground parking and visitor parking. The offer is complemented by cultural and health programs that create a unique living experience in HOFWIS.

The team from Timbatec Vienna volunteered to build a weather shelter for the non-profit organization «Train of Hope» and «House of Hope». Great commitment for a good cause.

The new office premises at the Lucerne site were officially opened together with customers and business partners. Many interested participants accepted the invitation to gain an insight into Timbatec Lucerne's office infrastructure.

Three elongated school buildings and a striking central building with a double gymnasium and attached head building together form the school ensemble of the «Nägelimoos project» in Kloten. Bob Gysin Partner (BGP) and Mierta and Kurt Lazzarini Architects win the competition team for the design of the Du Lac residential building in St. Moritz. Timbatec contributes its expertise in timber construction, fire protection, statics and construction.

Good timber architecture is valuable. That is why we support the Prix Lignum. It recognizes the innovative, high-quality and forward-looking use of wood in buildings. With a total of 583 entries, the field of participants is broad and high-caliber.

The Generationenhaus Langnau wins an award at the Prix Lignum 2024 in the Central Region. The competition, which has a nationwide reach and represents the multifaceted nature of the timber (construction) industry, takes place every three years. The prize recognizes the innovative and forward-looking use of wood in buildings.

Together with customers and business partners, the teams from Timbatec Holzbauingenieure Schweiz rocked the roof terrace at Falkenplatz 1 in Bern. The reason for the celebrations was the 10th anniversary of the Bern office.

The Federal Ministry of Labor and Economy has granted Timbatec Holzbauingenieure ZT GmbH the authority to act as an engineering consultant for civil engineering. In accordance with the ordinance of 01.01.2022, Timbatec Holzbauingenieure ZT GmbH will use the superordinate professional title «Ingenieurkonsulent für Bauwesen» in its business dealings (details in the link below).

From 2022 to 2027, the Wiesental school in Baar will be replaced by four new buildings. The east building is currently being realized. A triple gymnasium is being built in the middle of two flanking head buildings, over which an imposing, two-storey truss will span as a supporting structure.

Insights into ergonomics and health promotion at the computer workstation as well as a tour of Saldome 2, the wooden dome salt storage building at Schweizer Salinen AG in Möhlin, were the highlights of Timbatec Holzbauingenieure Schweiz AG's team day, edition 2 in 2024.

On Thursday, October 19, 2023 the inspection of this exciting real estate project took place. The new apartement building «Scherli», built in sustainable timber construction and according to Minergie-P standards, convinces aesthetically as well as functionally.

In the next ten years, school buildings will be needed for around 3000 additional classes. These will preferably be built with regional wood. A good example of this was built in Prêles on the Plateau de Diesse above Lake Biel. The new school complex was officially opened on 22 September.

The offices of VPA Architektur Zürich, extrã Landschaftsarchitekten from Bern and Timbatec Holzbauingenieure Zürich have won the project competition announced by the city of Dietikon for the redesign of the Luberzen school complex. The MOSAIK project was particularly convincing due to the use of wood and its ecological construction.

The study "Ecological Indicators for Investors: Comparison of Timber Construction - Solid Construction" shows a clear result: timber buildings perform better than solid buildings with regard to the implementation of climate protection targets and net zero.

The apartment building was extended by three storeys and forms the end of a row of houses from the 1980s. The new apartment building in Buchs AG combines the advantages of timber construction and solid construction. The wooden floor slabs, which are only 39 centimeters thick, rest on filigree supports - beams are not necessary. Thus, the large rooms and window fronts are not impaired by disturbing cross beams. This is possible thanks to TS3 technology.

proHolz Tirol, together with the Chamber of Civil Engineers | Arch+Ing Tirol and Vorarlberg, awards the Holzbaupreis Tirol every four years. The Naturquartier Weissache in Kufstein receives recognition for its exemplary use of wood.

On May 05, Lignum Fribourg presented Armasuisse with the Swiss Wood label. For the refurbishment of the multi-purpose hall HUM in Payerne, Swiss wood turned out to be the most economical solution. Timbatec accompanied the renovation project as timber construction engineer and submitted the certification application as Swiss Timber specialist partner.

The Building Award evaluates and honors outstanding, particularly remarkable and innovative engineering achievements in construction. The Rynetel wildlife bridge has been nominated for the award. This is a strong sign that in the future, infrastructure construction projects will increasingly be realized in timber construction.

With the realization competition "Mehrzweckgebäude Hafenwestseite - Südspitze" the city of Neustadt in Holstein is looking for a project as the end of the promenade. The proposal of Urban Agency from Düsseldorf could convince the jury and landed on the 1st place. Timbatec was allowed to accompany the architectural office during the competition.

In the 23rd district of the city of Vienna, renovation measures and roof extensions have begun on five apartment blocks. This will result in 44 new attic apartments with 2,380 m² of additional living space. Timbatec accompanied the refurbishment project through all planning phases.

The Liv Suites in the seven-story wooden building in the heart of the city of Lucerne offer a modern living experience. The shingle facade is an eye-catcher. Fire tests allow the continuous larch cladding without disturbing aprons or fire bars.

The multifunctional laboratory building on the Irchel campus of the University of Zurich is a good example of how office and educational buildings are built with wood today. A recently published study by WüstPartner proves that office buildings in timber construction are competitive.

Last week, employees of the Office for Land and Buildings (AGG) and the Civil Engineering Office of the Canton of Bern visited the Competence and Innovation Center Wood Biel. In addition to wildlife crossings in timber construction, the focus was particularly on the feasibility study on heavy-duty bridges.

It is probably the largest new building project ever seen in Küttigen. In the district of Rombach, the Baumgarten superstructure is currently being erected. Timbatec is responsible for the workshop plans of all timber components.

Product development has always been part of our self-image. To this end, we work closely with leading universities and research partners. In the village center of Gretzenbach in the canton of Solothurn, a wooden building is being constructed with twelve apartments and a village store. The balconies cantilever over 3.5 meters - without any disturbing supports. A sophisticated suspended construction makes it possible.

From 09-11 February 2023, the Salon Bois took place in Bulle. The largest trade fair around timber construction in Western Switzerland celebrated its 20th birthday this year. We thank all visitors for the interest and the many exciting conversations.

Philipp Lutz and Stefan Rüegg have successfully completed the specialist examination to become VKF fire protection experts. This means that they can assume the function of the QA fire protection officer for projects of the highest quality assurance level QSS3 and QSS4. Congratulations!

The Office for Forests and Natural Hazards of the Canton of Bern launched the innovation competition "Ideas Pool KliWa" and awarded prizes to particularly promising projects for a climate-smart forest of the future. The architectural firm fesselet krampulz architectes from Vevey wins the competition for the new school and sports facility Champagne in the canton of Vaud with the King Kong project. We have the privilege of assisting the architects in the implementation of this project as timber structural engineers.

When the timber industry gathers in Innsbruck, the year draws to a close. This year, more than 2,500 wood enthusiasts flocked to the International Timber Construction Forum and followed exciting presentations such as the one by Lukas Rüegsegger on wildlife bridges in timber construction.

Every year, we hold four team days with the entire workforce. On November 25, we visited Hilti's production facilities in Schaan and then enjoyed a Christmas dinner together. It was impressive to see what plans Hilti has for timber construction.

The «CircularTower» project brings circular construction to life. The «Setzkasten» project by the Biel-based architectural firm Inhelder Osterwalder Architekten in collaboration with Timbatec Holzbauingenieure was recommended for implementation.

In Grossaffoltern, the school complex is being expanded with a new building containing classrooms for the entry level. To ensure that the construction phase progresses as quickly as possible, the timber construction elements are prefabricated. For this, planning accurate to the millimeter is the be-all and end-all. As a training company, we are always happy to welcome new interns. Today we would like to welcome Jonas Hoffmann, who is studying wood construction and finishing at the Technical University in Rosenheim and is completing his internship in our office in Zurich.

Our strong growth in recent years requires well-organized structures and processes. We are pleased to have been able to win Lisa Paradis for organizational development. The working methods in timber construction have changed from manual processing to mostly CNC machining. Consequently, CAD drawing programs are predominantly used today and plans are created digitally from the very beginning. The new STE-Compact publication "Plan representation in timber construction", which was created under the direction of Lukas Rüegsegger, is an aid for collaboration in timber construction.

Building on existing structures curbs urban sprawl and is good for the climate. In our latest issue of Timber and Technology magazine, we highlight this topic with five exciting building projects, interviews, facts and figures.

On the Rosenhügel above the city of Vienna, living space for 2,300 people is being created on various building sites. Timbatec accompanies the building site 7 as local construction supervisor - here ten multi-family houses in timber construction were recently handed over to the new owners.

TS3 technology is the result of over ten years of research by Timbatec together with leading universities. TS3 has been an independent company since 2014. Now it is time for a new wind: Sven Bill has taken over the management of Timber Structures 3.0 AG, succeeding founder Stefan Zöllig.

The Mooseggstrasse generation house in Langnau is complete. At the inauguration ceremony, Joel Hächler presented a certificate proving the storage of 379 tons of CO₂ in the wood used. This corresponds to the CO₂ emissions of 29 circumnavigations of the earth in a mid-range vehicle.

On 01.07.2022 Sven Bill has taken over the management of Timber Structures 3.0 AG. He succeeds founder Stefan Zöllig, who remains in the company as a member of the management and as a member of the board of directors.

For the last two years, Timbatec has been involved in the DeepWood research project together with the Bern University of Applied Sciences and Arts, the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts and other business partners. DeepWood aims to show how several construction trades can plan simultaneously in a common model.

Like the previous version, the updated and expanded KBOB list represents life cycle assessment data in the construction sector. Corrections have been made in various areas to bring the theoretical values closer to reality. Wood products perform significantly better than before.

In the Tech Cluster Zug, the sculpture Semiramis was recently erected, symbolizing the connection between high-tech and nature. TS3 and Timbatec made a significant contribution to the fact that the complex wooden shells now seem to float weightlessly at an airy height.

In the 1970s, the army had a great need for new multi-purpose buildings and had two types of halls developed for this purpose. These buildings are getting on in years and are being renovated and strengthened against earthquakes. Two construction projects have been completed.

With the inauguration, the project partners have achieved an important goal: proving that power-to-gas plants can function on a large scale and thus contribute to supplying the country with renewable gas. In terms of construction, the new building in Dietikon is also exemplary: from the parking ceiling upwards, the plant building is a purely wooden structure.

The Zurich Timber Finance Initiative, an initiative of Timbagroup, has launched the "Timber Finance Carbon Capture & Storage Index". The index focuses on the CO₂ storage effect of wood and, with 30 selected listed companies, tracks the forestry and timber industry in the USA, Canada and Europe.

In spring 1997 Stefan Zöllig founded Timbatec in Steffisburg as a sole proprietorship. In the 25 years of operation, Timbatec has grown into a successful timber construction engineering company. We celebrated this with a ball, together with the entire Timbatec staff.

The motion "Research and innovation of wood as a material for use in infrastructure construction as a decarbonization contribution" was adopted in the Council of States and the National Council. Now it is up to us to present solutions on how steel and concrete can be replaced by CO₂-storing materials in the future. The RTS daily news shows the enormous potential of wood.

The new Wier retirement and nursing home in Ebnat Kappel will one day be home to 95 people. It is being built with wood from the region. Foresters from the communities felled over 3,500 cubic meters of wood last winter, which was later processed into wooden components. Follow the construction via webcam.

Every month, the Austrian Federal Ministry for Climate Protection, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology honors an object of the month. In January, the Alszeile residential complex in Vienna received the award.

Where locomotives were once built, an urban living space full of forward-looking ideas is being created in the middle of Winterthur. The motion "Research and innovation of wood as a material for use in infrastructure construction as a contribution to decarbonization" was adopted in the Council of States and the National Council. The task now is to replace reinforced concrete with CO₂-storing materials such as wood in infrastructure construction. For the Tech Cluster Zug, researchers from ETH Zurich are building a planted architectural sculpture together with Müller Illien landscape architects, Timbatec and other partners. The "Timber Finance Initiative" focuses on wood against climate change. Timber Finance wants to become the Swiss competence center for sustainable timber investments and thus connects the timber construction and finance industries. The startup, based in our offices in Zurich, was co-founded by Stefan Zöllig, among others. We wish you a good start.

On 17.11.2021 Salon Timbatec was held in the recently completed apartment buildings Alszeile. In the last moment before the lockdown, numerous guests attended the lectures and the tours through the building. National Councillor Erich von Siebenthal and Thomas Lüthi from the Initiative Holz BE presented the certificate to the president of the municipality Christian Däpp last Friday. It proves: The Aeschi school is built from Swiss wood. The showcase project was already put into operation by the students in Aeschi last spring.

The Austrian Federal Ministry for the Environment supports timber construction projects with up to one euro per kilogram of wood used and a maximum of half a million euros per project and applicant. This is a clear commitment to wood as a building material. Timbatec welcomes this initiative and encourages all building owners to submit their projects.

The Feld school building in Richterswil is being topped up and renovated at a cost of 7.6 million Swiss francs. Around four million Swiss francs of this will be invested in the two-story addition using TS3 technology. This will create an additional 1,542 square meters of space for classrooms, group rooms and a music room.

With careful renovation and a large-scale addition, the venerable cardboard and paper mill in the Bern suburb of Stettlen is being transformed into modern living space and a hub for startups and many creative and bright minds. The industry is unanimous in stating shortages and in some cases sharp price increases for important products for wood construction. The long delivery times are even more significant than the increased prices. In the long term, however, the opportunities and possibilities for strengthening the timber industry with a robust value chain outweigh the shortages.

Over the course of several nights, carpenters assembled the 17.5-meter-long, 1.24-meter-high and 8-ton wooden girders. In the future, deer, foxes, deer and small mammals will walk across the new wildlife bridge near Neuenkirch. This pleases the environment in various ways. HC Ajoie is promoted to the highest ice hockey league in Switzerland - a whole region is celebrating! Whether the regional wood from which the new Raiffeisen Arena in Porrentruy is built was decisive, we do not know. What is certain is that from next season, ice hockey will be played in two lighthouse projects: The Valiant Arena in Davos and the Raffeisen Arena in Pruntrut.

After the Rynetel wildlife overpass, the Federal Roads Office FEDRO is already building the second wildlife overpass with a wooden roof near Neuenkirch. Timbatec planned this structure as a sub-planner of the engineering consortium IG 2B with B + S AG and Bänziger Partner AG.

TS3 joins wood on the face side and thus enables point-supported large wooden surfaces. The technology is the result of 10 years of research and development by Timbatec together with the Bern University of Applied Sciences and ETH Zurich. Since the beginning of 2021, a new Innosuisse research project has been running for the further development of the technology and its successful establishment on the market.

The replacement building at Wehntalerstrasse 52 in Zurich-Unterstrass is erected. With the use of clay panels, sheep's wool insulation, flexible walls and TS3 technology, the timber construction is highly interesting from an ecological and technical point of view.

On 24.11.2020, HC Ajoie will play its first home game in the new ice stadium - built from hardwood and softwood from the surrounding forests. The new staff restaurant time out at the Aarau Cantonal Hospital was built in just eight months. 3D planning and good project management made the fast construction time possible. The building owner is grateful to ERNE as the general contractor and to the planning team.

Properly planned wooden houses are comfortable and healthy to live in, and sound insulation has a high priority. A good example of this is the "sue und til" development in Winterthur with over 300 apartments. Its residents are very satisfied with the building acoustics.

The Tüfi-Steg pedestrian and bicycle bridge in Adliswil is getting on in years. Analyses showed that replacing the bridge is almost as expensive as a costly renovation. Today, the new bridge - with beech wood from the surrounding forests - was installed over the Sihl.

The Swiss League ice hockey season starts today. For the time being, HC Ajoie will play away games until it can inaugurate the new ice stadium - built of wood from the surrounding forests - on November 18, 2020. Here you can already take a virtual tour of the stadium.

Vienna is growing strongly. The city is expected to have two million inhabitants as early as 2023. This requires new living space. Timbatec is committed to more timber construction projects like Alszeile. In this sustainable project, we were responsible for the structural analysis, among other things.

Switzerland's first wildlife bridge made of wood is quickly taking shape. One roadway is already covered with the wooden girders. Timbatec has been committed since 1998 to ensuring that such structures can be realized from the natural raw material wood. A site visit will take place on 16.09.2020 - it still has last free places.

Public procurement law (BöB) has been revised and will come into force at the beginning of 2021. The BöB and the newly published understanding standard SIA 101 require the consideration of sustainability over the entire life cycle. This is a clear commitment to wood as a building material.

Wood is a naturally renewable resource that requires only solar energy and water for its production. Harvesting and processing require very little energy and the material even stores CO2. A commercial building in Birmensdorf is being extended. The extension is accessed from the existing neighboring building by a 35-meter-long wooden ramp and serves as a parking deck for motor vehicles. New life is being breathed into the former cardboard factory in Deisswil near Bern. Thanks to the multi-storey wooden addition and the conversion of the existing factory buildings, a new quarter is being created. Currently, the wooden elements are being assembled.

The five-story superstructure with 34 apartments was recently erected. The building, made of solid wood construction, is located in Kufstein and is currently the largest wooden building in the Tyrol. Timbatec is responsible for the statics and fire protection in this showcase project.

The wheel has been turning again in the Schlossmühle Aarau since 1974. At that time, it came to Aarau as a gift from the Bözen mill. But the wheel turned in vain. The inside of the mill was empty, serving as a storage room. Now the castle mill is being extensively renovated. Timbatec calculated the statics of the many wooden components.

Today, the demolition work of the old special room wing begins. On August 7, the groundbreaking ceremony for the new building of the special rooms in timber construction will take place. A lot of spruce and beech wood from Switzerland is used for the construction.

The Wiesental school in the canton of Zug is being adapted to today's needs with a replacement building. The new school building will one day accommodate 560 children. Timbatec is pleased to receive the certificate from the CO2 Institute. It confirms: The wood used in the "Crocodile" has removed 6,418 tons of CO2 from the atmosphere. The large-scale project thus makes its contribution to climate protection.

It's official: The end-face connection of timber components with TS3 technology has been patented in the USA since the beginning of 2020. The TS3 technology is the result of ten years of research and development by Timbatec Holzbauingenieure Schweiz AG together with ETH Zurich and Bern University of Applied Sciences.

At the weekend, Swiss voters cast their ballots on two bills. Cantonal and municipal votes were held at the same time. The construction loan of almost 14 million Swiss francs for a new school building for the municipalities of Plateau de Diesse and Nods above Lake Biel was approved.

HC Ajoie is ice hockey cup winner - a whole region celebrates! Soon the Pruntruter will play in a new stadium made of wood. Thanks to the efforts of all those involved and Timbatec's wood flow processes, the new ice hockey stadium is made of wood from the surrounding community forests.

In Bern Bümpliz, the parish of Bern built a new apartment building entirely of wood - including staircase and elevator shaft. The first tenants move into their apartments.

In Pruntrut in the canton of Jura, a new ice rink is being built using timber construction. Where locomotives were once built, a new district is now being created in the middle of Winterthur. The first building of the development is a wooden structure called "Krokodil". With around 30,000 square meters of floor space, it is one of the largest of its kind. Timbatec is consistently implementing Building Information Modelling (BIM) in this superstructure.

TS3 is high-performance timber construction for large projects. It allows you to create large areas from wood in a way that was previously only possible with reinforced concrete. The technology is the result of ten years of research and development by Timbatec Holzbauingenieure Schweiz AG together with the ETH Zurich and the Bern University of Applied Sciences. We are very pleased about the nomination.

In Bern Bümpliz, the parish of Bern is building a new apartment building made entirely of wood. Timbatec, together with Büro 21 Architekten and the building owner, opened the doors and invited to an Apéro Riche on the construction site. Over 60 architects and other interested parties accepted the invitation. Many thanks.

Timber construction has developed very strongly in recent years. Today, sophisticated, innovative and environmentally friendly projects are built in timber construction. More and more municipalities are using wood as a renewable raw material in the construction of new school buildings. The municipalities of Plateau de Diesse, Nobs and Courtételle are leading the way. Two minutes' walk from Zurich Altstetten station, a new apartment building is being built with over 30 apartments on seven floors. Since the tight space conditions do not allow access for the fire department everywhere, Timbatec's engineers planned a safety stairwell - made of wood.

The Deisswil cardboard factory is being transformed into an innovative quarter. Unlike many brownfield sites, the existing buildings are not being demolished here, but supplemented with two additional floors in timber construction. Timbatec is responsible for the structural design and quality assurance of the addition.

In Pruntrut in the canton of Jura, a new ice rink is being built using the timber construction method. Timbatec is responsible for all timber engineering services. In the presence of around one hundred guests, the foundation stone was laid for the future ice rink of Ajoie et Clos du Doubs.

In Bern Bümpliz, the parish of Bern is building a new apartment building. The structure made of cross laminated timber is ready erected. On Thursday, 19.09.2019 at 16.30 Timbatec opens the doors together with Büro 21 Architekten and the building owner and invite you to an aperitif on the construction site.

In large construction projects, builders often first pour concrete for the staircase core. Carpenters then assemble the prefabricated timber components. Timbatec has reversed this sequence for the Lokstadt development in Winterthur: The wooden structure is erected, and then the liquid concrete is poured. This saves time and money.

Wood is not only the right choice of material for residential and commercial buildings, it also offers ideal properties for scaffold towers with large platforms. Timbatec was entrusted with the structural design of the three 70-meter-high scaffold towers for the Wolkenwerk development in Zurich's Leutschenpark. The towers are currently being erected.

The primary school building in the Lower Simmental of the Canton of Bern has reached the limits of its capacity. On Friday 24.05.2019, the erection of the extension building was celebrated with community-owned timber. Timbatec was responsible for all timber engineering services and fire protection in this exciting project.

One year ago, the TS3 endurance test stand was inaugurated. The TS3 technology was developed by Timbatec together with researchers from the Bern University of Applied Sciences and ETH Zurich. Today, TS3 AG is a successful start-up.

Where locomotives and machines were once built, a new urban district is now being created right next to Winterthur train station. At the moment, the wooden building Krokodil with over 250 apartments is being erected. Timbatec is responsible for the timber engineering services for the first building of the new Lokstadt.

The 'Holzbulletin' of Lignum is published four times a year and presents particularly innovative timber construction projects. The current issue is dedicated to the topic of facades and presents two projects in which Timbatec was involved: The Wolf House in Andermatt and a residential building in Wädenswil.

Timbatec Holzbauingenieure Schweiz AG develops modern products and technologies. One of them is so promising that it was outsourced to a separate company in Thun in 2014: Timber Structures 3.0 technology. This technology is now being presented at the International MassTimber Conference.

Timbatec has been certified according to the ISO 9001 quality management system for over ten years. At the end of February, our quality management system was again put through its paces. We are pleased and proud to receive the certificate for two more years.

In Grossaffoltern in the Bernese Seeland, four apartment buildings were built with the new TS3 technology. The construction site tour on 21.02.2019 with 70 people was a great success. In addition to architects and engineers, investors and potential builders met at the aperitif. The Bieler Tagblatt reports.

In the Neuhegi district of Winterthur, Switzerland's largest timber construction project was completed: the "sue&til" housing estate. Timbatec Holzbauingenieure Schweiz AG was allowed to do the timber construction planning for this showpiece project and was responsible for the fire protection concept.

The school Wiesental is adapted to today's needs by means of a replacement building in timber construction. The project "Domino" by PENZISBETTINI. Architekten and Daniel Schläpfer Landschaftsarchitekt was selected by the jury for further processing and execution. Timbatec Engineers congratulates the three colleagues for successfully passing the examination for fire protection specialist VKF with federal certificate. We are pleased to have already six specialists in the field of fire protection in our ranks.

The current issue of the Lignum building documentation Holzbulletin gathers seven showcase projects on the topic of transport and infrastructure. Among the selected objects is the Werkhof Loveresse. Timbatec was responsible for the timber engineering services in this project.

Lukas Rüegsegger, Managing Director of the Timbatec office in Berne, will speak at the Bau+Energie trade fair in Berne about tenders for public buildings using Swiss wood. In the technical lecture with the Initiative Holz, the principles of procurement law for public tenders according to GATT/WTO will be explained using practical examples.

High honor for Stefan Zöllig, founder of Timbatec and TS3: The UN Economic Commission for Europe has invited him to Vancouver for a presentation. The occasion is a conference of the UN Commission's Committee on Forests and Forestry.

Timbatec Engineers congratulates Johann Maître for the most innovative bachelor thesis at the Bern University of Applied Sciences, Architecture, Wood and Building (BFH-AHB). Furthermore, we congratulate Pascal Schönbächler, Sebastian Zwahlen and Stefan Vogt on their successful graduation as Bachelor of Science in Wood Technology at the BFH AHB. All four graduates completed their internship at Timbatec Engineers.

The Werkhof Loveresse in the Bernese Jura has reached the 3rd place of the Western Region at the Prix Lignum 2018. The prize is awarded for innovative and forward-looking works made of wood. Timbatec was involved in the detailed planning of the award-winning Werkhof from the very beginning.

The Bern University of Applied Sciences Architecture, Wood and Construction in Biel is organizing a symposium at the end of October. Experts from companies and from research will present innovative applications as well as the latest developments in wood bonding. This year, the event will also address the topic of adhesives for wood-based panel production. TS3 will present its new technology.

This Saturday, the Gstaad Sports Center invites you to an open day. The indoor swimming pool, a wooden construction from the beginning of the seventies, was recently renovated and since then appears in new splendor. Timbatec was responsible for the condition analysis of the construction and defined the renovation measures.

In industrialized prefabricated timber construction, the sequential planning of disciplines is dissolving. What is needed instead is networked planning by all project participants in interdisciplinary teams that already cooperate in the early phases of planning. Interested parties can obtain know-how on this new type of planning at a workshop at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSLU), to which Stefan Zöllig from Timbatec has been invited as a speaker.

The largest wooden superstructure in Switzerland includes 300 apartments, a mixed-use first floor and 200 parking spaces. For the investor project, rationalization was sought at every stage and modules were developed whose repetition is not in the housing unit, but in its function. Lignum organizes a tour of Sue&Til with presentations on the realization of large-scale buildings, timber construction and architecture, expert discussions with the TU, the architect and the client.

Where locomotives were once built, a new district is now emerging in the middle of Winterthur - Lokstadt. Historic industrial buildings marry with modern architecture. Old and new buildings serve a mixed use for work, living and leisure. During planning, attention was paid to both economy and ecology, to which the building material wood makes an important contribution. On July 12, the foundation stone was laid for one of the largest wooden buildings in Switzerland.

On July 12, the second Donnschtig-Jass of this summer took place in Zweisimmen. In the portrait of the venue, the new Simmental Arena is also presented.

The Mummenschanz hall in the Espace Nuithonie cultural center in Villars-sur-Glâne is currently being rebuilt. The reason: the wooden supporting structure of the hall, which was built for Expo 02, was in poor condition. This was revealed by a condition analysis carried out by Timbatec. Fribourg's local TV station La Tele reported on this on July 10 and interviewed Johann Maître from Timbatec.

The office Halle 58 Architekten, with which Timbatec has been cooperating for years, has received this year's Bernese business award "New Energy". One reason that the jury awarded the prize to the architectural office is the Oberfeld timber housing estate in Ostermundigen. Timbatec was responsible for the structural analysis of the project, among other things. Timbatec warmly congratulates Halle 58 Architekten on winning this year's Bern Enterprise Award.

In mid-June, the first Forum Säntis Innovations-Cluster Holz will be held in Wattwil, St. Gallen. One of the speakers at the forum will be Stefan Zöllig, founder of Timbatec and TS3.

Flück Holzbau AG needed a new working platform for its new joinery plant. The platform with a size of 15 meters in length and 7.5 meters in width was recently laid out and glued by Timbatec and TS3 in the company's workshop.

The business magazine "Portefeuille" of Biel's local TV station Telebielingue broadcast a report on the TS3 technology on the occasion of the opening of the permanent test stand. The TV magazine presents the method, which is expected to revolutionize timber construction worldwide.

Yesterday evening, Timber Structures 3.0 AG inaugurated the new TS3 endurance test stand inaugurated the new TS3 endurance test stand. Around 100 people attended the inauguration. They experienced live how the TS3 specialists bonded timber components on the face side.

For the first time, the new technology of Timber Structures 3.0 can be demonstrated one-to-one. The new TS3 endurance test rig is currently being set up at the Bern University of Applied Sciences in Biel. As part of the ongoing CTI project, this will be used to test and demonstrate the possible applications of TS3 technology. The inauguration of the test stand will take place on May 16.

Timber construction is in vogue. This is evidenced by several media reports that have recently focused attention on timber buildings in general and Timbatec projects in particular. The natural building material was a topic not only because of its sustainability. But also because wood can solve urgent problems of urban living, such as noise or housing shortage.
