Our interns Jonas Hoffmann and Louis Holtkamp have successfully defended their bachelor thesis. The Timbatec teams are proud of you and congratulate you on this success. We are always delighted to support young talents and accompany them in their training.
Jonas Hoffmann and Louis Holtkamp received their well-deserved diplomas at the end of January. This significant milestone in their professional careers marks both their personal success and their commitment to excellence as aspiring timber construction engineers.
The bachelor thesis of Jonas Hoffmann focuses on the investigation of the service life of an open pedestrian bridge in timber construction (using the example of the Boostocksteg project study contract in Spreitenbach) with the aim of guaranteeing its load-bearing capacity for 60 years without the use of chemical wood preservatives. Jonas studied at the Technical University of Rosenheim, Faculty of Wood Technology and Construction.
Louis Holtkamp studied timber engineering at Aachen University of Applied Sciences within the Department of Civil Engineering. In his bachelor's thesis, he analyzed the structural reaction under impact loads in timber construction. Specific aspects such as the behavior of the structures, potential damage and ways to improve impact resistance were investigated. The results should help to gain a better understanding of the reaction of timber structures to impact forces and identify possible solutions for improved construction methods.
Timbatec Holzbauingenieure Schweiz AG is continuously involved in the training and further education of young, motivated specialists. Over 90 interns from the Bern University of Applied Sciences and ETH Zurich have already started their careers with us as timber construction engineers or technicians. We also give students from various universities and colleges abroad the opportunity to do an internship at Timbatec or one of its sister companies in the Timbagroup companies. We take a lot of time to provide students with personal support. The trainees are fully integrated into the teams right from the start. We see active and individual support as the recipe for success in recruiting our specialist staff.
