The BMW15 apartment building in Thun is an innovative showcase project: it stands on the first basement made of wood in Switzerland, does not require heating and was built entirely without concrete. On Saturday, 13.11.2021 is again open day. Lectures and taster yoga lessons will be offered - and the still free 2.5-room rental apartments can be visited.
The BMW15 apartment building in Thun is full of innovations. That is why we invite interested people to visit at the open day. The lectures, free trial yoga lessons in the common room in the basement made of wood and guided tours will be offered between 10.00am and 2.00pm.
Date: Saturday 13.11.2021 between 10.00 am and 16.00 pm.

cellar made of wood
What seemed impossible for a long time is now a reality.
Thun is home to the first apartment building with a basement made entirely
made of wood. Houses without heating and without air conditioning make an important
contribution to climate protection. An even greater potential for energy saving lies in the choice of

Wood is already widely used in building construction. The next step is to dispense with building materials that are harmful to the climate, such as steel and concrete - even in basements and floor slabs. The DeepWood project refers to the future
