New Managing Director for TS3

TS3 technology is the result of over ten years of research by Timbatec together with leading universities. TS3 has been an independent company since 2014. Now it is time for a new wind: Sven Bill has taken over the management of Timber Structures 3.0 AG, succeeding founder Stefan Zöllig.
TS3 is the solution for large-scale timber construction and column spacing of up to eight by eight meters. This makes large buildings and exceptional architecture made of wood possible. The technology is the result of over ten years of research. Today, TS3 is successful on the market. Solid engineering technology and courageous innovation go hand in hand.

Sven Bill is the new Managing Director of TS3
TS3 technologies have met with broad interest in the market. In addition to the floor slabs initially targeted, TS3 has been approached with other needs. For example, the first basement floor in wood with TS3 technologies has been completed in 2021. A research project is currently underway with BFH AHB for monitoring and development towards market readiness of basements in wood.
With the growing global demand for wood as a sustainable building material, the demands for a more efficient use of the raw material round wood are also increasing. Therefore, Stefan Zöllig wants to develop the scrimber idea (wood not cut into boards, but rolled and glued into panels) and set up production. Both will be outsourced to a separate AG in the 2nd half of 2022. Stefan Zöllig will concentrate more on these two products from 01.07.2022. He will remain a member of the management and the board of directors of TS3 AG.

Stefan Zöllig founded Timbatec in 1997 and developed the company into one of the leading timber engineering firms. In 2014, he founded TS3 AG and has brought the technology to application maturity with several research projects together with ETH Zurich and BFH Biel. In the meantime, over 30 projects with a total of around 14,000 m2 have been built under his leadership in Switzerland, Austria, the USA and Canada.
