Extension elementary school, Stadel

The project
Timbatec was responsible for the planning of timber construction, building physics and civil engineering. The two-storey school annex, which was designed so that one storey could be added later, was built in pure timber construction from the floor slab onwards. The facade was also constructed with wooden slats. The staircase including the platform construction was built with encapsulated CLT panels and the staircase was used as a precast concrete element.

The construction
Due to the simply chosen structural system, only the stairwell and exterior walls are load-bearing. All interior walls are non-load-bearing, so that the layout of the classrooms can be designed very flexibly. With the lignature ceilings, spans of a good 7 m were created with slim ceilings. These have the advantage of being REI30 on the one hand and a finished ceiling surface with acoustic profiles on the other.

The challenge
The challenge was to cleanly plan and tender the project in the shortest possible time. Due to the fact that Timbatec was responsible for the timber construction as well as for the building physics and civil engineering services, a fast and target-oriented planning was the result.
