The project
Eight terraced single-family houses were built on the outskirts of Zurich using a hybrid construction method. Four houses were combined into one building. The single-family houses consist of a basement, three full storeys above ground and an attic storey.
The construction method
The buildings were constructed using a hybrid construction method from the ceiling above the basement. The exterior walls and roof are designed in timber frame construction, the interior walls and ceilings in solid construction. The façade was also made of wood. A special feature is that the vertical façade is framed by horizontal bands.
