The project
The listed Haus Rheinschau in Stein am Rhein was completely refurbished.
Static reinforcement was carried out without any significant intervention in the existing supporting structure.
The storey ceilings had to be strengthened in such a way that the room-by-room arrangement was possible in order to preserve the one-sided cladding.
The construction
The building consists of massive walls, some of which have rubble stones from the medieval city wall. The floor slabs were built in classical beam layers and were strengthened accordingly with consideration.
The challenge
The floor slabs were to be strengthened to such an extent that no damage would occur to the existing substance. During the refurbishment, care was taken to ensure that the fire protection measures were carried out cleanly and in accordance with the existing structure.
